Day 9 Windermere Engage Mutual and Kate McIntyre

And the day dawned surprisingly pleasant. And so it remained.
As good a day as any to run a marathon!

Kate arrived and we duly had our photos taken. Once again may thanks to Engage Mutual.

We had a really good first half - nice pace without overdoing it. And Aly and Mac yet again provided ginger beer. Great for me, probably not as great for Kate behind me!

The most difficult part of the course is the 3rd quarter - it's also the most dangerous traffic wise. I was concerned having Kate with me so I really pushed on here even though it hurt. The result was that we hit Bowness in a fast time. Here Mark (Kate's husband) provided us with more drinks and we eased off to drift in to Brathay in 4.38. Which is fast for me and during Challenge 30.

Also many thanks to Scott Umpleby and family - your support was much appreciated thanks. Paul Ashworth too as he cycled past!

Here's Kate and me at the finish:

And in Windermere - Kate was rather less comfortable in the lake than running round it!
And 30% in to Challenge 30 here are some stats. I'll do a state of play tomorrow! Need rest now.

Chris, awesome, you are doing a superb job and have raised some fantastic funds for Brathay. Struggling to get out to support you but will do at some stage. Brilliant stuff.
