As good a day as any to run a marathon!
Apologies for late blog - late tea equals late blog and the meal times vary every day.
Today was the worst day so far with my ankle - but although it didn't feel like it, 5:43 on Langdale is still not a bad time at all. I had envisaged 7 hour days.
Won't say any more about it now - there's a bit on my Facebook page about it - link to the right. With a newly acquired cryo cuff (thanks Brathay and Aly) I do believe I am containing it.
As a result I've slightly modified my plan in that I will until further notice run Langdale anti-clockwise. That is the current "official" direction. Whilst the climbs are steeper, there's more downhill not as steep and with injury it is quicker for me.
Thanks to the Salutation Health Club & Spa in Ambleside who have given me a couple of passes for the spa. Really very kind of you thanks. www.amblesidehealthclubandspa.com
I also got tweeted by Paula Radcliffe who wished me luck and advised me to pace myself. That will be a negative split then Paula - second 15 faster than the first??!!
Gina has arrived again which is wonderful and I complete the first 15 with a lap of Windermere tomorrow. Fellow 10in10 club member Davey Green is out with me tomorrow - I don't usually wear ear phones but I think I'll need to tomorrow!!
That's all folks - need to get that cryo cuff on again.
Here are some stats:
Sponsorship passed £33,000 today - THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!! So motivating. Also to the Brathay staff who are under strict instructions just to stick my leg back on if it falls off!
