I'm Just Going Outside ....

Very much the Antartic theme this weekend. A real nuisance to be honest. Last year when I wanted ice to train for the Baikal Siberian Ice Marathon there wasn't any: this year when I want to run hilly road runs I daren't go on them because of the ice.

So yes - I was not back for some time, but not really long enough. What with that and a wife full of cold who we've christened Snot of the Antartic!

Anyhow better than nothing and I did my first full marathon of the year last week - the Windermere course during the training weekend  for the 10 marathons in 10 days challenge 2013. I hope to do the Great langdale course next weekend as I am up in the area again.

That's it for now - difficult to get into a set routine with such unpredicatability so grabbing gym and running time when the weather gods allow. Will lay out some training plans when it all settles down.

In the meantime - click here to see a video from today's rather white and bleak effort.

And if you don't mind I'm keeping this quote rolling forward for a bit because it motivates me to put the training in:

"The fight is won or lost far away from witnesses - behind the lines, in the gym, and out there on the road, long before I dance under those lights."
